My Story
I knew from a very young age that I wanted to work within a helping field and have always loved working with children. I first discovered the magic of Applied Behavior Analysis while working at a residential summer camp for children with ASD in upstate New York, while completing my undergraduate degrees. I immediately began researching how I could further my education in this field and began classes for my master’s degree within weeks of graduation. My first job as a behavior therapist brought me to Chicago, where I worked with young children in their homes and in private school settings. The progress that I have seen my past and current clients make through an individualized ABA treatment plan serves as my motivation to deliver effective, evidence-based interventions to increase socially significant behavior while decreasing challenging behaviors. I am a big believer in celebrating my client’s successes and victories, no matter how big or small.
My Blue Bird Day
I love working within a multidisciplinary environment and collaborating with other therapists at BBD. I love that the BBD programs allow children to receive both individual and group services, so that individualized attention is focused on each child’s skill development, along with socialization with peers.
My Blue Bird Day Goals
- My professional goals include becoming certified in Organization Behavior Management and to continue to help grow BBD’s fieldwork/practicum supervision program for master level students in the field of ABA.
