Professional Goals

  1. I would love to obtain more experience in sensory integration, DIR Floortime, and feeding and swallowing.

My Story

Growing up, I loved helping people whether that be through work, volunteering, or throughout my typical day. I also loved learning foreign languages, because it opened up the doors to communicate with others when there was previously a barrier. Meshing the two together led me to Speech Pathology (which I can do bilingually). I could help people learn to communicate in a unique way, opening up the doors to greater independence and creating connections with the world and people around them.

My Advocacy

Unrelated to Speech Pathology, my husband and I support the Wounded Warrior Project, Hope Clinic (in Ann Arbor, MI), and Illuminations Bible.

My Education

Masters of Speech Pathology,
Calvin University

My Blue Bird Day

Upon relocating to Chicago for my husband’s job, my search led me here. I found an organization that matched my passion for helping children discover their voice.

Blue Bird Day

Blue Bird Day fosters socialization, sensory regulation, and pre-academic learning in children ages 2–7 years in therapeutic rotations that simulate  preschool and kindergarten settings. Our compassionate therapists practice a relationship-based and family-centered approach, provide parent training, and collaborate on goals and individualized intensive treatment plans for your child.

We believe in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team approach to therapy.  A team of occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, developmental therapists, behavioral therapists, physical therapists, and therapeutic assistants are created for each child to ensure child and family are fully supported and the best possible results are achieved.

Options for individualized, group and virtual therapy sessions are available as well.
