Professional Goals

  1. I am excited to continue to grow professionally here at Blue Bird Day and continue to learn more about pediatric healthcare.

My Story

My name is Abby and I am an Administrative Assistant (Scheduling Team) for Blue Bird Day Northcenter. To tell you a bit about me, I graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2019 with my Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a minor in Education. After spending the past two years as a daycare teacher, I realized just how much I love working with children. I am passionate about meeting kids where they are to help facilitate their growth and development. I was excited to find a place like Blue Bird Day that does just that! Before becoming a teacher, I spent time as an Administrative Assistant at Columbia College Chicago. I enjoyed assisting all of the staff in the Development and Alumni Relations Office, and am excited to do the same here!

My Advocacy

An organization close to my heart is the Alzheimer’s Association. Having had a Grandmother that had Alzheimer’s and having family members work for the Association, I learned just how much they do to help those living with Alzheimer’s, their caretakers, and research efforts. I am very grateful for the work they do.

My Blue Bird Day

I started as a Receptionist in May 2021 and transitioned into the role of Administrative Assistant in July 2021. Blue Bird Day is a community that promotes collaboration and growth and I have enjoyed working for this company.

Blue Bird Day

Blue Bird Day fosters socialization, sensory regulation, and pre-academic learning in children ages 2–7 years in therapeutic rotations that simulate  preschool and kindergarten settings. Our compassionate therapists practice a relationship-based and family-centered approach, provide parent training, and collaborate on goals and individualized intensive treatment plans for your child.

We believe in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team approach to therapy.  A team of occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, developmental therapists, behavioral therapists, physical therapists, and therapeutic assistants are created for each child to ensure child and family are fully supported and the best possible results are achieved.

Options for individualized, group and virtual therapy sessions are available as well.
