(June 2020) What Is An RBT?
My Story
Growing up, I always knew I wanted to work with children in some way, shape, form, or fashion but I couldn’t pinpoint what field was the best for me. When I was around 10-years-old, my younger cousins were both diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and my love and interest in studying ASD came alive! In Fall 2016, I had the opportunity to complete an internship for my last semester of undergrad and Blue Bird Day was on the list. I was able to intern and work with wonderful children and therapists and increase my knowledge of ASD. Fast forward, I was hired as a TA, worked my way up to a Supervising TA, and obtained my certification as an RBT along with furthering my studies in applied behavior analysis as a graduate student. My passion and dream of working with children with ASD came alive working at BBD and I truly appreciate every relationship built with clients, therapists, and parents and I am looking forward to greater experiences!
My Blue Bird Day
I truly cherish and appreciate the relationships built with our clients. In addition, I am grateful for the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment with various disciplines and providers. Learning how to collaborate with others to build treatment programs for our client’s ultimate success is very rewarding.
