My Story

I have grown up in Chicago, and am happy to be back! I recently graduated from the University of Iowa, studying social work. After finishing the BSW program, I decided to join Blue Bird Day because I have always loved working with children. I wanted the opportunity to gain experience and skills working in a clinical setting. I enjoy going on relaxing bike rides on the weekends, and running long distance!

My Advocacy

I have experience with interning at the Domestic Violence Intervention Program in the shelter, and I am starting to volunteering working with older folks on the weekends!

My Education

Bachelors Degree in Social Work,
University of Iowa

My Professional Goals

I want to further pursue social and working with children in the future. I want to continue work in a clinic and working as a therapist, and obtaining my MSW.

Blue Bird Day

Blue Bird Day fosters socialization, sensory regulation, and pre-academic learning in children ages 2–7 years in therapeutic rotations that simulate  preschool and kindergarten settings. Our compassionate therapists practice a relationship-based and family-centered approach, provide parent training, and collaborate on goals and individualized intensive treatment plans for your child.

We believe in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team approach to therapy.  A team of occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, developmental therapists, behavioral therapists, physical therapists, and therapeutic assistants are created for each child to ensure child and family are fully supported and the best possible results are achieved.

Options for individualized, group and virtual therapy sessions are available as well.
