My Story

I was introduced to the field of occupational therapy by my mother, who was an occupational therapist in the areas of physical rehabilitation and education/schools.  Her practice focused on holistically supporting her clients’ participation in meaningful occupations or activities of daily living, as both interventions and outcomes of therapy.  I decided to pursue OT as a career after recognizing how effective supporting a child’s sense of self was to occupational participation and how the environment could be modified to facilitate a child’s success.  I graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) with my Master of Science and Clinical Doctorate in Occupational Therapy, as well as completed the Assistive Technology Certificate Program there.  During my time at UIC, I focused on research engagement, the advancement of pediatric processes of care, and environmental modification and strategies to promote clients’ independence.  I am honored to work with my clients and their families and look forward to witnessing their growth.

My Blue Bird Day

I enjoy working at Blue Bird Day for many reasons, but my most memorable experiences have been collaborating with clients and their families to identify meaningful goals for therapy based on what is important to them.  Each child is so unique and amazing, and it is so special to see what motivates and inspires them to participate within their daily lives.

My Blue Bird Day Goals

  1. Use my skills as a research-informed clinician to support the advancement of pediatric processes of care at Blue Bird Day Program
  2. Complete Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT) Certification
