My Story

I became a therapist when I realized how much I enjoyed helping others with their mental health. I took a college level psychology class in high school, and my passion for mental health started there. Being able to help anyone in their time of need is a very rewarding and worthwhile experience.

My Advocacy

I am an advocate for people with physical and intellectual disabilities, for the marginalized and discriminated population, and survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. I am often found volunteering on numerous crisis lines and supporting Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center for survivors of sexual assault.

My Education

Masters of Science in Education in Counseling,
Northern Illinois University

My Professional Goals

My professional goals include:

  1. Becoming a clinical supervisor for new and incoming graduates.
  2. To become certified in EMDR therapy.
  3. Continuing to improve my play based therapy approach.

Blue Bird Day

Blue Bird Day fosters socialization, sensory regulation, and pre-academic learning in children ages 2–7 years in therapeutic rotations that simulate  preschool and kindergarten settings. Our compassionate therapists practice a relationship-based and family-centered approach, provide parent training, and collaborate on goals and individualized intensive treatment plans for your child.

We believe in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team approach to therapy.  A team of occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, developmental therapists, behavioral therapists, physical therapists, and therapeutic assistants are created for each child to ensure child and family are fully supported and the best possible results are achieved.

Options for individualized, group and virtual therapy sessions are available as well.
