My Story

I discovered occupational therapy when my dad was diagnosed with Multiple Systems Atrophy. He worked with many different therapists who were wonderful, but there was something about the occupational therapist that fascinated me. I loved working with my dad on his exercises and seeing how they adapted his life and my family’s in order to better support his everyday life. Occupational Therapy allowed him to continue participating in his daily routines and preferred activities that made him happy. I have always loved working with kids so when I found out occupational therapists also worked with pediatrics, I shadowed a pediatric OT and my career choice was a no brainer from that point on. Not many people can say they love their job, I’m thankful I can!

My Blue Bird Day

I have only worked at BBD for a short time, but already my favorite aspect of BBD is the passion and collaboration of the team. Each co-worker I have met has been incredibly helpful and welcoming. They all show such passion for their clients and know that it takes a team, not just an individual, to make a difference in a family’s life.

My Blue Bird Day Goals

  1. To develop my clinical skills in working with kids with ASD.
  2. To utilize more theory and research in my everyday practice.
  3. To be the best team member I can be for my clients, families, and co-workers.
