My Story
Ever since I could remember, I have always known I wanted to be in the helping profession. It was not until after I was working as a certified nursing assistant, specifically with the geriatric population, for about 5 years that I knew I wanted to help others within a different capacity. After completing my BSW at Lewis University, I knew I wanted to work with children because of the interest I had specifically with witnessing growth. Growth and change was not something that I was able to witness from my patients as a nursing assistant. I eventually found my first post-undergraduate job as a paraprofessional within a therapeutic day school. Working as a paraprofessional is what had ignited my passion to pursue an interest working with children and families. While I enjoyed my work as a paraprofessional, I had also noticed that the school setting had heavily lacked the component of social-emotional learning and mental health as a whole. Following this experience, I recently completed my Master’s degree in Social Work with a concentration in infant and early childhood mental health. I believe in the importance of relationships with families and how parent-child relationships can support growth and development for young children and their families!

My Blue Bird Day
Being a newer social worker, I am looking to immerse myself within early childhood to be able to practice what I have learned while helping kiddos achieve their goals to be able to thrive! I am extremely excited to be a part of the team!
Blue Bird Day
Blue Bird Day fosters socialization, sensory regulation, and pre-academic learning in children ages 2–7 years in therapeutic rotations that simulate preschool and kindergarten settings. Our compassionate therapists practice a relationship-based and family-centered approach, provide parent training, and collaborate on goals and individualized intensive treatment plans for your child.
We believe in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team approach to therapy. A team of occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, developmental therapists, behavioral therapists, physical therapists, and therapeutic assistants are created for each child to ensure child and family are fully supported and the best possible results are achieved.
Options for individualized, group and virtual therapy sessions are available as well.
