My Story
I have worked in the field of ABA since 2011. Growing up, I always knew I wanted my career to be meaningful within a community. I began working as a behavior therapist and shortly after began to advocate for my nephew to see a developmental pediatrician. At that time, he received a diagnosis of autism. My passion to support children and their families continued to grow and it really inspired me professionally as I could not only relate from personal experiences but also educate and teach others on effective treatment strategies. As I became a BCBA, it provided me the opportunity to work in a comprehensive ABA clinic, assist with launching a family home program, work in a public school, and obtain the foundation of my clinical skills. I then went back to school for my master’s degree in special education and became a BCBA in February 2017. Throughout my experiences as a supervisor across a variety of therapeutic settings, it has helped shape me into the therapist and mentor I am today.
My Blue Bird Day
I really enjoy working with the pediatric population and their families. Blue Bird Day provides me with the opportunity to be many families’ first point of contact when disseminating ABA and creating an individualized plan for their child. Working with other therapists across disciplines all under one roof is a magical thing. It allows each of us to learn and grow from each other and collaborate for the best interest of our client. I enjoy being part of an organization that is growing as it has provided me the opportunity to develop a strong foundation for our behavior therapy department and service more families.
My Blue Bird Day Goals
- Obtain Certification in Organization Behavior Management
- Continue on-going development and knowledge in evidence-based treatment practices to create individualized interventions fluently.
- Continue to support Blue Bird Day’s development and growth.
