My Story

I’ve always loved working with kids. Growing up, I would babysit, help out at youth-group and Sunday school, and I love the positivity and light that children bring to your day. When I started at UIUC, I was originally going to be a pediatrician, but like many, the pre-med route didn’t feel like the direction I was meant to go in, especially after the hours and hours studying for Chemistry exams. I ended up taking a Psychology course as an elective, but I became super interested right away and decided to change my major. Around the same time, a friend had told me about her new job working at an ABA clinic, and I thought the job sounded fantastic! I applied to a clinic in Champaign, near my school, and just instantly fell in love with the job. I love being able to help children build skills and see how proud they are of themselves when they overcome challenges.

My Advocacy

Some causes that are important to me are youth education and supporting food distribution. My favorite organization is definitely Feed My Starving Children, because not only is it distributing food to the people who need it the most, but it’s also a really cool experience where you can go with a group of friends or family and package the food together.

My Blue Bird Day Goals

  1. I love being an RBT and I plan on working in the field of ABA.
  2. I plan on going down the BCBA path.
