My Story
Growing up, I always knew I wanted to be involved in healthcare. I spent my high school and college years shadowing and volunteering in various settings to explore potential career paths. Eventually, I stumbled upon physical therapy while volunteering at Hospice and was astounded by the opportunity for physical therapists to influence someone’s quality of life regardless of the prognosis. Nowhere did I find this more rewarding than in the Pediatric field, where not only can you empower a child to reach his or her goals through their lifetime, but you also have the chance to impact the quality of life of an entire family. On top of all of this, you get to engage with kids in imaginative and fun activities all day!
My Blue Bird Day Goals
- One of my clinical goals is to pursue a Specialist Certification in Pediatrics to further my expertise in the field and my ability to provide the highest level of care to my patients.
- I also have a non-clinical goal of eventually becoming involved in education either via publication, continuing education presentations, or as program faculty in order to help shape the future of the PT profession.
