Professional Goals

I know that I want to work with autistic individuals the rest of my career, but am still determining the details. After finishing my Bachelors degree, I could see myself pursuing a Masters in ABA and a BCBA certification. I hope to someday develop curricula and accessible tools for autistic self-advocacy.

My Story

While completing observation hours at an ABA facility for a college class, I noticed similarities between myself and the autistic clients. A year and a half later, I received my official autism diagnosis. I worked for almost 4 years at that same facility, learning to accept, accommodate, and celebrate my autism alongside my students. I hope to spend the rest of my career helping autistic clients and families develop self-advocacy and self-compassion.

My Advocacy

For organizations that want to better the lives of children and families impacted by autism, I prefer organizations that prioritize the voices of autistic people themselves. My favorite is The Autistic Self-Advocacy Network.

My Education

Bachelors of Science in Behavioral Health Science,
Grand Canyon University
(currently enrolled/in progress)

My Eyas Landing

I started at sister company Eyas Landing before moving over to Blue Bird Day. I chose Eyas Landing because I left each interview beaming; it was obvious how much care, pride, and respect the team has for their clients and I want to be a part of a place like that.

Blue Bird Day

Blue Bird Day fosters socialization, sensory regulation, and pre-academic learning in children ages 2–7 years in therapeutic rotations that simulate  preschool and kindergarten settings. Our compassionate therapists practice a relationship-based and family-centered approach, provide parent training, and collaborate on goals and individualized intensive treatment plans for your child.

We believe in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team approach to therapy.  A team of occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, developmental therapists, behavioral therapists, physical therapists, and therapeutic assistants are created for each child to ensure child and family are fully supported and the best possible results are achieved.

Options for individualized, group and virtual therapy sessions are available as well.
