Not published, but I’ve presented a poster presentation at the Tennessee Occupational Therapy Association Conference on my thesis involving Occupational Therapy Intervention in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

My Story

I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Family & Child Studies with an emphasis in Child Development and as a Child Life Specialist. Working in the hospital as a Child Life Intern opened my passion for helping children with physical, cognitive and developmental disabilities grow socially, physically and academically.

My Blue Bird Day

I am new to Blue Bird Day and will be working as an occupational therapist. About a month, ago I attended a virtual training on sensory integration hosted by therapists from Eyas Landing.

My Advocacy

Besides being an occupational therapist, I have a background as a Special Education Teacher. Inclusion of Children with disabilities in school, society and the workforce. As I return back to the OT field, I believe National Board Exam prep and continuing education for therapists is crucial in strengthening the field of Occupational Therapy.

My Blue Bird Day Goals

  1. I would love to one day be Board Certified in Pediatrics.
  2. I would like to learn more and be certified as an autism specialist and in DirFloortime, NDT and Sensory Integration.
  3. Maybe one day opening up my own multi-disciplinary therapeutic pediatric clinic.
