Professional Goals

  1. To develop and refine my clinical skills in the world of pediatric occupational therapy to ensure I provide quality care to clients and their families.
  2. To eventually obtain a CBIS certification (Certified Brain Injury Specialist).

My Story

I fell in love with occupational therapy after I worked at a residential program during my undergraduate where I assisted college students with significant physical disabilities with their activities of daily living. I am so grateful to have pursued a holistic career that allows me to maximize the independence of others and help people reach their full potential. I first found Blue Bird Day in 2021, where I worked as a Therapeutic Assistant before starting occupational therapy school. I fell in love with the multidisciplinary approach and saw firsthand the amount of growth that the children had with their skill development after participating in this program! I am so excited to return to Blue Bird as an occupational therapist to empower children and their families to reach their goals.

My Education

Bachelors of Science in Psychology,
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy,
Lewis University

My Blue Bird Day

I previously worked at Blue Bird Day as a Therapeutic Assistant at the Wheaton location in 2021 while applying to occupational therapy schools. I loved working closely with the team to help children participate in the preschool program. I learned so much during my time as a Therapeutic Assistant that I decided to return as an occupational therapist! I am so excited to grow in my profession and learn from others at the West Loop location.

Blue Bird Day

Blue Bird Day fosters socialization, sensory regulation, and pre-academic learning in children ages 2–7 years in therapeutic rotations that simulate  preschool and kindergarten settings. Our compassionate therapists practice a relationship-based and family-centered approach, provide parent training, and collaborate on goals and individualized intensive treatment plans for your child.

We believe in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team approach to therapy.  A team of occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, developmental therapists, behavioral therapists, physical therapists, and therapeutic assistants are created for each child to ensure child and family are fully supported and the best possible results are achieved.

Options for individualized, group and virtual therapy sessions are available as well.
