My Story

Growing up I always wanted to be a teacher because I love learning and I wanted to share that passion with others. I knew I wanted to work with children because they are so bright and can light up any room. Once I started college, I realized teaching was not for me and took a little time to figure out what I really wanted to do. I realized I wanted to be an occupational therapist while I was working as a waitress at a retirement home. I had made friends with the senior residents that lived there and would sometimes watch them do their therapy during my breaks. I noticed how happy they were and how great it felt for them to take small steps towards their independence. I started researching occupational therapy and thought it was great. OT is my dream job because you can build a relationship with people, be creative, hands on, teach and make a difference!
