Professional Goals
My long-term goal is to combine my BFA with my upcoming M.Ed. to bring therapeutic tools, interventions, and the performing arts together in inclusive environments. A dream of mine is to develop a nonprofit organization designed to provide opportunities for social development and community engagement through the arts for people of all ages with special needs. This could include inclusive classroom environments, enrichment and extra-curricular programming, private therapies, or community outreach.
My Story
I grew up working with children and adults with special needs specifically through performing arts enrichment programming. Last year, I was fortunate enough to develop and begin working as the Director of Kaleidoscope, an inclusive performing arts program, designed to welcome children and young adults with disabilities into the spotlight. I have always valued inclusion, and I think a valuable role that I can play is providing children with the tools that will help them to be successful in inclusive environments.
Blue Bird Day
Blue Bird Day fosters socialization, sensory regulation, and pre-academic learning in children ages 2–7 years in therapeutic rotations that simulate preschool and kindergarten settings. Our compassionate therapists practice a relationship-based and family-centered approach, provide parent training, and collaborate on goals and individualized intensive treatment plans for your child.
We believe in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team approach to therapy. A team of occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, developmental therapists, behavioral therapists, physical therapists, and therapeutic assistants are created for each child to ensure child and family are fully supported and the best possible results are achieved.
Options for individualized, group and virtual therapy sessions are available as well.
