My Story

After completing my undergraduate program, I wanted to work in a nonspecific OT role but still be able to meet client needs with the skills I had learnedbegan working for nonprofit agencies providing community services to adults in mental health and then transitioned to young adult services and autism. It was at this time I worked with challenging behaviors and autismI then moved to Chicago from the UK and knew it was the best time to begin working in pediatric services with autism. I applied to Bluebird Day when I first arrived in Chicago and soon became a TA, where I was able to observe a BCBA providing ABA services and instantly thought wow!! I researched and decided that ABA was going to be the next step in my professional career. I completed my RBT certification and became an RBT within 6 months of beginning at Bluebird. Since 2018 I have been providing ABA services to clients aged 3-6 in-clinic and inhome services. I started my graduate program in Applied Behavior Analysis in 2019 and continue to complete this alongside my role as a Senior RBT.

My Blue Bird Day

The one thing that always caught my attention was the multidisciplinary approach to therapy that was provided within Bluebird Day.  I had never experienced anything like this and knew this would be so beneficial to foster multi-disciplinary relationships with other providers. I was right it has been amazing to work with so many amazing therapists collaborating together working towards the same goals for our clients

My Blue Bird Day Goals

  1. To complete my Master’s program in 2020
  2. Become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2021
