My Story

My name is Samantha but I also go by Sam. I was recently laid off after working with an organization for 6 years. It was quite a tough pill to swallow but it gave me the drive to pursue my passion of working with children again. I’ve always dreamed of becoming a teacher. I have previously worked as a behavior therapist for another organization that specialized in working with children with developmental disabilities including Autism. With any challenges I faced I was also rewarded with the opportunity to watch the kids and families thrive. I’m excited to become part of another company that can give me that opportunity. I’m looking forward to everything there is about being a part of Blue Bird Day!

My Blue Bird Day

I have a friend who’s daughter went to the school before her untimely passing. I went to the memorial and the various teachers and therapists that worked with her daughter gave their stories and spoke about what the organization does for children. I was moved by the relationships they build with my friend and her family. It was very moving and something I knew I wanted to be a part of.

My Blue Bird Day Goals

  1. I’m looking to go back to school later this year to pursue teaching and most likely specialize in special education.
  2. I also would like to obtain certification to be a registered behavior technician to help me further my teaching career.
