My Story

Occupational therapy (OT) can make a huge difference in someone’s life, which I have witnessed first-hand as the sister of an individual with disabilities. Along with my sibling experience, I chose this profession because no other profession commits to creating client empowerment using a holistic approach like occupational therapy. I choose to work in pediatrics because I enjoy working with the whole family unit and seeing kids who have worked so hard on their goals finally meet them. What I love most about working with kids is that occupational therapy looks like play. Kids don’t even know how hard they are working!

My Blue Bird Day

Blue bird is a special place where children are continuously growing and working to meet their goals. I enjoy our interdisciplinary teams because we can problem solve any challenges that a child might be facing with a variety of perspectives, experiences, and research. As well as collaborating with family members to ensure their child will continue to grow and develop within their own context.

My Blue Bird Day Goals

  1. Graduate from the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) program in April 2021
  2. Gain professional licensing in the following areas:
    • Hippotherapy Clinical Specialist
    • Certified Autism Specialist (CAS)
