My Story

While I was getting my MSW, my nephew was diagnosed with Autism. I utilized the skills I had learned in undergrad and was currently learning to help my family navigate through his diagnosis. My population of interest as a social worker quickly shifted and I became immersed in getting him involved in therapies, researching how social work can relate to other forms of therapy, and how impactful it can be to provide social/emotional learning skills to young children on the spectrum. My personal story and professional interest helped me to decide on the population I wanted to dedicate myself to as a licensed social worker, which brought me to Blue Bird Day!

My Education

Bachelors of Social Work,
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Masters of Social Work,

Blue Bird Day

I am very excited to join Blue Bird Day as I commit to my long time interest in working with children on the Autism spectrum, along with other developmental disabilities. I am looking forward to jump right into a safe, inclusive, and diverse environment.

Blue Bird Day

Blue Bird Day fosters socialization, sensory regulation, and pre-academic learning in children ages 2–7 years in therapeutic rotations that simulate  preschool and kindergarten settings. Our compassionate therapists practice a relationship-based and family-centered approach, provide parent training, and collaborate on goals and individualized intensive treatment plans for your child.

We believe in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team approach to therapy.  A team of occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, developmental therapists, behavioral therapists, physical therapists, and therapeutic assistants are created for each child to ensure child and family are fully supported and the best possible results are achieved.

Options for individualized, group and virtual therapy sessions are available as well.
