My Story
I graduated and gained my IL teaching license but ultimately knew classroom education was not the path for me. I wanted to work with younger children and more closely with their families; this is how I found the Illinois Early Intervention system. So in addition to working at Blue Bird, I am a Developmental Therapist serving children 0-3 and their families. When I stepped into this role, I knew that therapy was the track for me.
My Blue Bird Day
In addition to being an RBT, I work as a Therapeutic Assistant at BBD NC. This is where I began my journey at Blue Bird and have quickly transitioned into this new role.
My Advocacy
I have worked in many public and private educational and therapeutic settings. Unfortunately, the range of services is stark. I believe that all families should have access to high quality services, such as the ones that Blue Bird provides. Through my professional journey I hope to advocate for more equitable policy in these settings to ensure high quality support for all.
My Blue Bird Day Goals
- My current professional goals center around legal advocacy for children and families with disabilities. I am hoping to gain my masters in Child Development and jurisprudence in Child and Family Law to become a better partner to the families I serve.
