My Story

I have always had a passion for taking care of children. As a preschool teacher for six years I had multiple children in my class with learning disabilities, some of which included autism and chromosomes abnormalities. During my time as their teacher, I felt some children with certain developmental roadblocks were not receiving the attention, support, and resources that would help them reach social and educational milestones. During my bachelor’s degree in psychology, I was taught the importance of researching what people need, and what they are struggling with, so that they can make the necessary adjustments to increase the quality of their life and experiences. Being a Therapeutic Assistant will allow me to learn and continue helping children in the ways that will set them up for success so that they learn how to manage their conditions into adolescences and adulthood.

My Blue Bird Day Goals

  1.  I would like to gain experience working with professionals from different discipline.
  2. I would also would like to pursue a Master’s degree in school psychology and feel my experiences at Blue Bird Day will assist me in my eventual program.
