This blog is about anti-racism resources that we here at Blue Bird Day have put together to assist parents when it comes to having conversations about these topics.</span></p>
<p><span data-contrast="auto">T</span><span data-contrast="auto">here is </span><span data-contrast="auto">an increase</span><span data-contrast="auto"> of</span><span data-contrast="auto"> recognition</span><span data-contrast="auto">, </span><span data-contrast="auto">awareness, </span><span data-contrast="auto">and </span><span data-contrast="auto">transformation </span><span data-contrast="auto">occurring </span><span data-contrast="auto">to dismantle systemic racism</span><span data-contrast="auto"> and to prevent any form of discrimination. </span><span data-contrast="auto">Gracefully, s</span><span data-contrast="auto">o many from all walks of life have beautifully joined together to create a great new way of thinking</span><span data-contrast="auto"> and to approach the process of </span><span data-contrast="auto">learning and growing</span><span data-contrast="auto"> </span><span data-contrast="auto">as a challenge we can tackle together. </span><span data-ccp-props="{"> </span></p>
<p><span data-contrast="auto">Being the type of parent to introduce and support differences is becoming a commitment for us all. </span><span data-contrast="auto">Teaching our children to become their best selves,</span><span data-contrast="auto"> </span><span data-contrast="auto">to </span><span data-contrast="auto">connect to others no matter their race or background</span><span data-contrast="auto">, </span><span data-contrast="auto">and to </span><span data-contrast="auto">build a </span><span data-contrast="none">world where our children feel safe, included, and happy is </span><span data-contrast="none">possible and what Blue Bird Day is dedicated to</span><span data-contrast="none">.</span><span data-ccp-props="{"> </span></p>

<li data-leveltext="" data-font="Symbol" data-listid="1" aria-setsize="-1" data-aria-posinset="1" data-aria-level="1"><a href="https://www.tolerance.org/sites/default/files/general/beyond_golden_rule.pdf"><span data-contrast="none"><u>&#8220;Beyond the Golden Rule&#8221; by Teaching Tolerance Publications</u></span></a><span data-contrast="auto"> :</span><span data-contrast="auto"> Teaching</span><span data-contrast="auto"> Tolerance provides free resources for educators and parents regarding social justice and anti-bias. “Beyond the Golden Rule” is a </span><span data-contrast="auto">parent guide</span><span data-contrast="auto"> for how to prevent </span><span data-contrast="auto">and respond to prejudice with </span><span data-contrast="auto">children </span><span data-contrast="auto">ranging from preschool to 17</span><span data-contrast="auto">.</span><span data-contrast="auto"> </span><span data-contrast="auto">The</span><span data-contrast="auto"> guide </span><span data-contrast="auto">also ha</span><span data-contrast="auto">s</span><span data-contrast="auto"> expert questions &amp; answers</span><span data-contrast="auto"> to give various viewpoints</span><span data-contrast="auto">, as well as helpful tips for how to approach topics. </span></li>

Their mission is “to</span><span data-contrast="auto"> publish contemporary diverse stories that </span><i><span data-contrast="auto">all</span></i><span data-contrast="auto"> children could enjoy.</span><span data-contrast="auto">” In addition to bringing more equal representation to books, they also work with unpublished authors and illustrators of color. </span><span data-contrast="auto"> </span></li>
<li data-leveltext="" data-font="Symbol" data-listid="1" aria-setsize="-1" data-aria-posinset="1" data-aria-level="1"><a href="https://akidsbookabout.com/collections/all-products"><u>A Kids Book About&#8230;</u></a><span data-contrast="auto">: A Kids Book About stories come from </span><span data-contrast="auto">authors who all have </span><span data-contrast="auto">different backgrounds</span><span data-contrast="auto">, experiences, and stories to share. Some of the topics covered in their book series include </span><span data-contrast="auto">racism, disabilities, belonging, and anxiety. </span></li>
