My Story

My career working with children first began in a graduate school Developmental Psychology research program at Tulane University following a neuroscience undergraduate degree. We performed basic research on infant hand-to-mouth movements using kinematic analysis to learn how babies develop the coordination to bring a pacifier to their mouths accurately. I love working with kids and learning about evidence-based research, but I discovered sitting at a computer most of the day was not for me! I subsequently tore both of my ACLs playing sports and ended up switching gears to pursue a career as a physical therapist. I involved myself in numerous pediatric volunteer opportunities and clinical rotations in physical therapy school and have since worked as a pediatric physical therapist in Early Intervention (0-3 years) and in pediatric outpatient clinics (0-18 years). I have treated kids who present with a variety of conditions including cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, torticollis/plagiocephaly, spina bifida, hypotonia, Down Syndrome, various genetic disorders, toe-walking, traumatic brain injuries, developmental delay of gross motor skills, and more. I love working with kids because they bring joy and excitement to every session, and I can provide intervention at a critical time period in their lives where they will get the most benefit going forward!
