My Story

I discovered Speech Pathology when I was in college and was able to observe some of the SLPs at a skilled nursing facility here in Chicago. I was drawn to it because I found that the work they did allowed these people to not only communicate, but to participate in life in a way that they had not been able to for a long time. As I entered graduate school, I was able to treat both children and adults and I found that with adults, you are giving them back the gift of communication and with children, you are giving them something they maybe have never had. It’s such a powerful thing to see kids making connections, learning, and making friendships. I feel so profoundly lucky to get to learn and grow more in this field and hopefully make a difference in the lives of kids!

Blue Bird Day

Blue Bird Day fosters socialization, sensory regulation, and pre-academic learning in children ages 2–7 years in therapeutic rotations that simulate  preschool and kindergarten settings. Our compassionate therapists practice a relationship-based and family-centered approach, provide parent training, and collaborate on goals and individualized intensive treatment plans for your child.

We believe in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team approach to therapy.  A team of occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, developmental therapists, behavioral therapists, physical therapists, and therapeutic assistants are created for each child to ensure child and family are fully supported and the best possible results are achieved.

Options for individualized, group and virtual therapy sessions are available as well.
