My Story

I started my healthcare journey as a mental health worker in an inpatient psychiatric unit working with adults, older adults, and sometimes teenagers. Working specifically with teenagers with developmental disabilities piqued my interest to pursue a career with early childhood and the possibility of positive outcomes through early intervention. While exploring a career path in early intervention and developmental therapy, I was introduced to occupational therapy by my now husband, who was pursuing OT at the time. After my initial observation with NICU OT, I was hooked. I then had the opportunity to explore a variety of settings during my observation and knew it was the path I wanted to continue toward. Since becoming an occupational therapist, my interest continues to grow and working with children every day reminds me of where I’ve come and where I want to be next.

My Professional Goals

  1. To continue building my skill set to be a more well-rounded occupational therapist.

Blue Bird Day

Blue Bird Day fosters socialization, sensory regulation, and pre-academic learning in children ages 2–7 years in therapeutic rotations that simulate  preschool and kindergarten settings. Our compassionate therapists practice a relationship-based and family-centered approach, provide parent training, and collaborate on goals and individualized intensive treatment plans for your child.

We believe in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team approach to therapy.  A team of occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, developmental therapists, behavioral therapists, physical therapists, and therapeutic assistants are created for each child to ensure child and family are fully supported and the best possible results are achieved.

Options for individualized, group and virtual therapy sessions are available as well.
