My Story
I always knew that I wanted to work with children, and it was right after I graduated from DePaul that I discovered Developmental Therapy specifically. I was walking past a child development center one day, decided to go in out of curiosity, and walked out after 2 hours of talking with the owner with a wealth of new knowledge plus an internship! The fluid and holistic nature of Developmental Therapy is what drew me to this specialty; plus, with an emphasis on relationship-based therapy and social-emotional development, I also love the fun, play-based nature of DT sessions!
My Professional Goals
- To continue to work towards bringing more children and families access to Blue Bird Day’s critical programming.
- To continue to increase my professional education on trauma-informed care for children and families.
- To increase my professional education on reflex integration and the impact of poorly integrated reflexes on development as a whole.
- To improve my comfort and performance with public speaking.
My Education
Masters of Science in Child Development,
Erikson Institute
Bachelors in Psychology,

My Blue Bird Day
Eyas Landing was my first job after graduate school. We were a very small clinic at that time, and I was hired to help build the program that would eventually become Blue Bird Day. Starting with only the shared vision of building a bridge between Early Intervention and mainstream schools, and an initial classroom of just 7 kiddos, it has been such an honor to work on this team and watch as Blue Bird grew into the incredible intensive therapy program it is today! So many children, families, and professionals have come through Blue Bird’s doors since our start and made a lasting change in both my personal and professional development.
Blue Bird Day
Blue Bird Day fosters socialization, sensory regulation, and pre-academic learning in children ages 2–7 years in therapeutic rotations that simulate preschool and kindergarten settings. Our compassionate therapists practice a relationship-based and family-centered approach, provide parent training, and collaborate on goals and individualized intensive treatment plans for your child.
We believe in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team approach to therapy. A team of occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, developmental therapists, behavioral therapists, physical therapists, and therapeutic assistants are created for each child to ensure child and family are fully supported and the best possible results are achieved.
Options for individualized, group and virtual therapy sessions are available as well.
