My Story
I discovered the career path of Occupational Therapy during my last year of my undergraduate education so I took a two year gap in my schooling and worked as a RBT at an Autism Services clinic. I loved working alongside our OT at the clinic and found a passion for the play and strengths-based therapy style that supported increased life participation for our clients and their families!
My Advocacy
I am continuously working towards becoming a more neurodiversity-affirming practitioner and respecting and learning from the voices of Autistic adults.
My Education
Doctor of Occupational Therapy,
Midwestern University
My Blue Bird Day
I completed my final doctoral capstone project with the Blue Bird Day NC location earlier in 2023, where I created professional development materials and ran a workshop for the OT department on caregiver coaching models. I also carried a caseload for 3 days a week alongside the project.
My Professional Goals
- To provide the most personalized and meaningful family-centered care to every client while utilizing their strengths and supporting skill development in all areas.
Blue Bird Day
Blue Bird Day fosters socialization, sensory regulation, and pre-academic learning in children ages 2–7 years in therapeutic rotations that simulate preschool and kindergarten settings. Our compassionate therapists practice a relationship-based and family-centered approach, provide parent training, and collaborate on goals and individualized intensive treatment plans for your child.
We believe in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team approach to therapy. A team of occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, developmental therapists, behavioral therapists, physical therapists, and therapeutic assistants are created for each child to ensure child and family are fully supported and the best possible results are achieved.
Options for individualized, group and virtual therapy sessions are available as well.
