My Story
Before I got into this field, my family had the opportunity to care for foster children within our home through a crisis foster organization in Chicago. Going from caring for children with complex medical and developmental needs within my own home to pursuing a career treating communication disorders in children seemed like a natural transition. During my graduate studies at Northwestern University, I discovered my passion for working with children with a variety of communication disorders in both group and individual settings. I had the unique experience to collaborate on a multidisciplinary team as a part of Northwestern’s Developmental Diagnostic Program to evaluate children ages birth to 3 for developmental delay and autism spectrum disorder. I believe that the ability to collaborate effectively with other specialties and a client’s family is a crucial part of providing effective therapy.

Blue Bird Day
Blue Bird Day fosters socialization, sensory regulation, and pre-academic learning in children ages 2–7 years in therapeutic rotations that simulate preschool and kindergarten settings. Our compassionate therapists practice a relationship-based and family-centered approach, provide parent training, and collaborate on goals and individualized intensive treatment plans for your child.
We believe in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team approach to therapy. A team of occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, developmental therapists, behavioral therapists, physical therapists, and therapeutic assistants are created for each child to ensure child and family are fully supported and the best possible results are achieved.
Options for individualized, group and virtual therapy sessions are available as well.
