My Professional Goals

  1. I hope to be able to continue my education and become a physical therapist that is focused on working with children.

My Blue Bird Day

In 2022, I had the opportunity to become an intern at Blue Bird Day with the help of UIC. Throughout my internship, I was able to observe the different kinds of therapies that are offered at Blue Bird Day and the way therapists and therapeutic assistants would interact with the children.

My Story

For many years, I have worked closely with children because it was something I enjoyed doing. When people would ask me what population I wanted to work with, it was easy to say with children because I have always been around them! I have observed that with children, the first few years of their lives you can build their confidence and really set them up for success in their future. I want to be part of a program that really prioritizes a child’s well being and makes them feel comfortable; which is why Blue Bird is the ideal place to be in.

Blue Bird Day

Blue Bird Day fosters socialization, sensory regulation, and pre-academic learning in children ages 2–7 years in therapeutic rotations that simulate  preschool and kindergarten settings. Our compassionate therapists practice a relationship-based and family-centered approach, provide parent training, and collaborate on goals and individualized intensive treatment plans for your child.

We believe in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team approach to therapy.  A team of occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, developmental therapists, behavioral therapists, physical therapists, and therapeutic assistants are created for each child to ensure child and family are fully supported and the best possible results are achieved.

Options for individualized, group and virtual therapy sessions are available as well.
