Professional Goals
- As a lifelong learner, my professional goals are to continue growing my clinical skills and expertise to best serve my clients and their families. I hope to give back to the occupational therapy profession by becoming a fieldwork educator and supporting OT students throughout their clinical experience.
My Story
Throughout my undergraduate career, I volunteered and worked in various settings working alongside a multidisciplinary team of therapists. I remember observing an occupational therapist in an outpatient pediatric setting and thinking “Wow, this kid is having so much fun!” I really fell in love with supporting individuals with disabilities of all ages when I worked as a program supervisor and lead camp counselor at a special recreation. Being able to provide a safe space where individuals can socialize and engage in recreational opportunities has been incredibly rewarding and meaningful to me. It excites me to provide similar opportunities for the kiddos at Blue Bird Day to socialize and engage with peers, and most importantly explore their senses and environment through play. I have always been inspired and motivated to work with kids because of their resilience, curiosity, and confidence in themselves. I have definitely found my passion and I am so happy I pursued this amazing career!
My Advocacy
I am a strong advocate for all individuals with disabilities. I believe all individuals are born with unique gifts and strengths, and it is such an honor to work with them everyday to help overcome obstacles that may prevent participation in everyday life.
My Education
Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy,
Lewis University
My Blue Bird Day
I interned at Blue Bird Day my senior year during undergrad and fell in love with the positive environment, collaborative nature, and the dedication the team brought everyday when working with the kiddos and their families. I am so excited to come back and make a meaningful impact as an Occupational Therapist!
Blue Bird Day
Blue Bird Day fosters socialization, sensory regulation, and pre-academic learning in children ages 2–7 years in therapeutic rotations that simulate preschool and kindergarten settings. Our compassionate therapists practice a relationship-based and family-centered approach, provide parent training, and collaborate on goals and individualized intensive treatment plans for your child.
We believe in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team approach to therapy. A team of occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, developmental therapists, behavioral therapists, physical therapists, and therapeutic assistants are created for each child to ensure child and family are fully supported and the best possible results are achieved.
Options for individualized, group and virtual therapy sessions are available as well.
